ATG wins second project at Fleetwood WwTW

ATG recently completed the EC&I installation at Fleetwood Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) to improve the screening of the incoming wastewater, and has subsequently been awarded a prestigious £1·9M contract to undertake a second EC&I installation project for KMI Plus at Fleetwood, to increase the overall capacity of the plant.

The scope of work for the project includes the design and installation of HV switchgear, HV / LV cabling, C&I and PROFIBUS cabling, earthing, lightning protection and building services.

Fleetwood WwTW was constructed on a brownfield site in 1996 and considerable effort was made to make the site as discrete as possible within its surroundings. The plant is now being refurbished and expanded as part of the continuing improvement works on the Fylde coast, to accommodate the overall population growth and also the seasonal variations associated with visitors to Blackpool and Fleetwood.

Ian Speirs, ATG Business Unit Manager said:
“This is one of the last projects under the AMP 4 programme of work, before United Utilities move onto AMP 5 in 2010. The order has landed at the perfect time for ATG following the completion of a similar £1.8M project at Ashton-under-Lyne, so the team has seamlessly transferred to the Fleetwood project.”
