Key Points

Shell Stanlow near Ellesmere Port in Cheshire is Europe's seventh largest refinery and processes crude oil for fuels, lubricants, heating oil, LPG and Bitumen.  Employing over 800 people, Stanlow processes 11 million tonnes of crude a year, mainly from the North Sea but also from the Middle East, North Africa and Russia.

Shell required an electrical engineering company to undertake the EC&I term contract, including new installation, repair and maintenance.  Following a selection process, ATG was awarded the initial EC&I contract in 2001, which has subsequently been extended to 2009.
